Novels

 We will be reading three major novels in class: The Cay by Theodore Taylor,  Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, The Schwa was Here by Neal Shusterman, and various read-alouds from the Rebecca Caudill 2010-11 List.

 The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis

Shakespeare's Secret by Elise Broach

Explanation of Literature Circles:

Students will choose one book to read from the text sets and they will be placed into Literature Circles.

 Director, Literary Luminary Finder, Vocabulary Enricher, Illustrator and Connector are the positions that each students will have the opportunity to complete. They will be able to "teach" their peers their assigned roles and assume the position of teacher.
