The "Be" Choices

• Positive attitudes are a PLUS!

• All students will be respectful of others

• Students should know and adhere to school rules.

• Students are responsible for the activities of each class period. If students know of a conflict ahead of time, students are welcome to turn in projects early.

• Students will need to contact me and set up a day or time to make up the missed work.

• Effort is a real plus!

• If there are questions, please ask me them!  I will do my best to answer them and, if I can't, I'll try and find the answer!

• Listen to directions the first time they are given.

• Plagiarism and cheating are serious offenses and may be punished by failure on the assignment, project, or course.

The purpose of this class is to create opportunities for students to enjoy and respond to literature in a variety of ways.  Our goal is to assist students in developing and improving their ability to read critically in order to form and express educated opinions.  We will provide the tools necessary for students to employ a variety of comprehension strategies when processing and responding to new and challenging literature.  It is through these means that we can create an environment in which all students can learn to appreciate the beauty and power of literature.
