Miss Pollack’s
Discipline/Positive Reinforcement Plan

Positive
Consequences
A point system is used to
monitor and reward positive behavior. Students can earn one point for
each of the following skills, each period.
- Follow
Instructions- make eye
contact, answer appropriately, follow instructions on first request.
- On Task/Responsibility-
materials ready, raise hand for assistance if needed, work hard.
- Positive
Participation- listen to
others, work together, take an active part in all group
assignments/discussions.
-
Self-Control/Body Basics-appropriate
voice tone, appropriate facial expression, keeping hands to yourself.
- Respect
Peers and Staff-use
appropriate voice tone, be considerate and helpful, and treat people how you
want to be treated.
Each day the students will transfer their
points for dollars which they can deposit in their own classroom "checking
account". Each day students can earn five points per period, which equals
to 40 classroom dollars a day. Once a week students may shop in the classroom
store. Good behavior will not go unnoticed! There is always an opportunity to
earn extra bonus points!
Negative
Consequences
If a student is
not able to utilize the above skills then the following actions will take place.
- Student will
receive three verbal warnings
- Student will
not earn full points in one or more of the above skills
- If a
students cannot follow directions after three verbal warnings they earn an
office visit which can result in a detention.
