Supplies for Class

  • 2 separate notebooks: Reflective Literary Journal and Grammar Connection Notebook
  • pocket folder with prongs         (8th graders need two of these)
  • double-sided tape
  • 256 MB memory stick
  • blue or black ink pen, marking pen, highlighters

Help Sessions -        Tuesdays/Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:15

Stop by when you need extra help or just want to work on your assignments.  You can take the late bus home.

Announcements
The literature students are reading December Stillness and finishing an independent project due this Friday.

The language arts students are now organizing notes, creating a works cited page, and working on their Research Snapshot. 

The last day that late work will be accepted is Monday, May 23rd.  This  means that the Research Snapshot, due on the 25th, MUST be turned in that day in order to receive a passing grade.

UPCOMING DATES:

  • 5/16  Literary Analysis on The Giver is due
  • 5/17 30 note cards (total) should be done
  • 5/20 CD book report is due
  • 5.25 Research Snapshot is due
  • 5/27 Final Exam - Lit/L.A.

Announcements
The literature classes are reading chapters 12-16 this week in The Lightning Thief. We are examining author's craft as we look at the uses of humor and figurative language. 

The language arts classes are learning about sentence fluency through sentence combining activities, which will later be applied to their writing.
