Here at Lake Zurich Middle School South, we have a unique scheduling system to give teachers more time to teach their lessons. By putting two periods together to form one long double "block" period students and teachers don't have to rush to learn or teach. On 'A' days, Students go to either math or science for two whole periods, and students go to either literature or language arts for two whole periods (Also L.A. and social studies can be blocked depending on your schedule). On 'B' days, students go to the class that they didn't go to on the 'A' day for a double period.
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday |
| 'A' Day | 'B' Day | 'A' Day | 'B' Day | Traditional Day |
With the exception of early release days and or days off, 'A' days are Monday, and Wednesday, and 'B' Days are Tuesday, and Thursday. On Friday, there is a traditional day, where students attend all their classes at the regular periods. Blocked periods are also staggered between each grade to clear the hallways for passing students.
