Soccer is played all around the world, boys and girls. It's definitely an exciting sport that involves teamwork and sportsmanship. You can hang out with your friends and enjoy playing. In middle school, soccer is more of an aggressive game. It's very competitive, so it's definitely a cut sport. If you don't make it the first year, try and try again! You definitely don't want to miss this opportunity.

Tryouts are usually held before spring break and the team is decided before
spring break also.
The games are held either at Middle School South (home) or at different schools
(away).
Busses will transport students to the schools and back (if needed), family and
friends can attend any game.
The school will provide you with directions or simply

Basic Rules:
If you have any questions on how the game of soccer is played, ask the current coach
(Mr. Grimm) or

The team usually buys tee-shirts or sweatshirts, anywhere from $25-30. Depending on the year, uniforms may be bought or used from previous years. At the beginning of the season, there is a fee of about $75-95 (not including sweatshirts or shirts). The fee for busses is included in the beginning season fee.
Games and Practices:
Games are usually at 4:00 on school days. Students should stay after school and
do homework. If needed, a student may talk to the coach regarding homework
issues or needing to go home before games. There are anywhere from 12-14 games
and one tournament. The tournament is held at the end of the season. If there is
not a game, there will be practices until 4:00 after school, unless notified
otherwise. Friday practices are after school until 3:15, late busses are
available. The announcements will notify if games or practices are canceled but
otherwise, practices are held in the back of the school at the soccer field. ALL
students must report to the coaches room before every game or practice.
Snacks
and Drinks
It is always a good idea to eat before games. Students may decide to make a
snack and drink list, so each student always has something to eat before each
game. Snacks should consist of healthy foods and water or Gatorades. NO pop and
NO candy allowed. Examples of food are granola bars, pop tarts, chex mix and
goldfish. Drink examples are water and Gatorade.
