Equipment:
The equipment you need is headgear,
mouth guard if have braces or if you want the extra protection. Bring your own
wrestling shoes or coach has extras to use. When it is time to run the hallways
you need running shoes and your hard working self.
Meets and tournaments:
Meets are always in the weekdays and
tournaments are both weekdays and weekends. The tournaments the team will be in
are one or two quad meets, Gemini, conference, and two people from each
weight class will go to regional's. The Gemini and conference are for varsity
wrestlers only. At the regional tournament if you place through third place you
will go to sectionals. If you place through third place at sectionals you will
advance to state.
Varsity And Junior Varsity:
If there is more than one person
that wants to wrestle at Varsity for your specific weight class then you would
have to wrestle off the person/person(s). The weight classes are listed
below. Fifth graders can be on the team too. During a meet if there is no one
from the other school in your weight class then you will wrestle an exhibition
match, that is when you wrestle somebody near or at your weight class on your
team.
