Applied Technology

Students will experience the use of tools like saws and hammer. The projects will include wooden over openers and plastic desk organizers. Along with the fun in the class, safety procedures are taught. | In 7th grade, students will work with a team to conquer certain projects with the use of strategies. These projects include making a sturdy bridge, making working machine out of legos, learning the principles of electricity, and building techniques. | Students will explore the world of technology with a plethora of projects including recording your own audio tape and filming your own movie. You will also make and race your own CO2 cars. |
Computers |
Enables students to improve their typing skills and keyboarding techniques. Students will also use Microsoft Word to help them with projects. | Students will design their very own business including expenses, business cards, and employee records using Microsoft Publisher and Excel. | Publishing on the World Wide Web-

may be posted at South's site. Multimedia- Students will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop with pictures. |
Drama |
The basics of stage performances will be brought into focus through many different skills. They will also learn the history of theatre, and the concept of improvisation. | Students will go into depth with character development and presenting scripted and non-scripted projects which include fractured fairy-tales and musical pantomimes. | Broadway Bound- Students focus on
scripted acting. Perform popular plays such (i.e. Grease). Second City- Students will have to be creative with the use of improvisation. |
Home Economics |
The mechanics of a sewing machine are introduced in order to create multiple sewing projects. They will also be introduced to the art of cooking. | Basics of cooking are introduced. Students will learn about the use of utensils techniques used when cooking. Students will also cook and bake several recipes as projects. Sewing will also be done. | Going international- Students will
sew their character pillows and cook many dishes from around the world. Create and Cook- They will create sewing projects and cook various dishes. |

Students will look over the history of music as well as theory of music. co-curricular, graded class that meets everyday for thirty minutes. It
is a non-auditioned music performance ensemble that seeks to develop a student’s musicianship and character. Chorus participates in several musical performances as well as school service projects throughout the year. |
